Yes, I am now one of THEM. As stated in my last post, I got a new laptop last year. I wanted to go with Debian, but because the hardware is very new, I had to go with something more … current. My old laptop ran Manjaro, and I was quite happy with it. However, I wanted to go with a base distribution. Nothing that uses another distribution as it’s base.
Starting with NextCloud I finally got myself a MiniPC. Installed Linux on it and then NextCloud AIO. It was a bit of a hassle to get the port forwarding as I wanted it. AIO is also a bit finicky if you give it some incorrect information. It doesn’t complain until you try to get everything setup and it simply doesn’t work.
After the first few hurdles, I started tinkering with my shiny new NextCloud instance.
Today is the day I deleted my old page. New beginnings. This means I now committed 100% to hugo. I have to say that I prefer the simplicity of it. That it is just static web pages. I also like that it is just plain files on my side. Makes it so much easier to move things around, find things and edit them. I don’t have to deal with a database or whatever limited things the software offers me.
I had played around with hugo for a while. Tried it, stopped, tried it, stopped. Today I thought enough is enough. I might as well commit to it, So there it is. My new page in Hugo. I decided to use the “Terminal” theme. It just fits my background the best. Good, old Unix terminal.
