I had to go to Vancouver to get my passport renewed. I took the day off, because I had an early appointment and then just spent the rest of the morning, walking around and taking some pictures.

We went to Pender Island for my birthday. First day was a big stressful. We headed out early, to hopefully make it onto an early ferry. We couldn’t get a reservation to Pender Island. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it on because there were just too many waiting. We got onto the next one to Swartz Bay. There, we had to leave the ferry termainal, turn around and then drive back in.

My mom and sister came again for a visit this year. This time they flew into Seattle. I went there to pick them up. Day 1 The vacation already started with some excitement. As you can see, there is no luggage. It didn’t make it to Seattle. This isn’t the first time they are flying, which meant they were prepared. The had some essentials in their carry. We headed to the hotel and afterwards down to the wharf.

Birthday weekend This year was a special birthday. J took me to Whistler for my birthday. Four days away. We had a lot of fun. The hotel room had a private hot tub. It was necessary after all the walking we did. It was really nice. On the way to Whistler I learned a lesson. If Google Maps tries to constantly get you off the highway, then check your route options.
