Birthday weekend#
This year was a special birthday. J took me to Whistler for my birthday. Four days away. We had a lot of fun. The hotel room had a private hot tub. It was necessary after all the walking we did. It was really nice.
On the way to Whistler#
I learned a lesson. If Google Maps tries to constantly get you off the highway, then check your route options. A drive that usually takes about two hours, maybe three, took us over four hours. For some reason, I had “Avoid highways” set. On the plus side, we did drive along Marine drive. A nice little route. We did a few stops along the sunshine coast.
The Sundial Hotel#
J booked a room at the Sundial hotel. Was a really nice room. Lots of space and we even had our own hot tub.
Dinner in Whistler#
We went to the Mongolie Grill Whistler. The food was excellent. Not cheap, but worth it. We shared a Pina Canada. A traditional Pina Colada with added strawberry puree.
Walking through Whistler#
The next day, we took a nice walk through Whistler. That’s when we noticed that had a Children’s Festival. Couldn’t resist to stand under the banner and look grumpy. “I am not a child!” :-D
I also took a picture of the fire hydrant in front of the hotel. It looks as if it has an antenna.
Vallea Lumina#
That evening we went to Vallea Lumina. I highly recommend it. It is a great experience.
I also took a couple of videos:
Last things and way home#
