I decided to update the ’terminal’ theme to the latest version and of course, a bunch of tings broke. Mainly because I changed files within the theme folder instead of overwriting the files. I either have a folder that can take Legal or one that can take Letter. Looking at the reactions, I can see two fractions: This is the year of the Linux Desktop It’s not that big of a deal. It’s easy to install Linux. I wanted to address both of those. Let’s start with: This is the year of the Linux Desktop I doubt it. As stated in my last post, I got a new laptop last year. I wanted to go with Debian, but because the hardware is very new, I had to go with something more … current. My old laptop ran Manjaro, and I was quite happy with it. However, I wanted to go with a base distribution. Installed Linux on it and then NextCloud AIO. It was a bit of a hassle to get the port forwarding as I wanted it. AIO is also a bit finicky if you give it some incorrect information. It doesn’t complain until you try to get everything setup and it simply doesn’t work. New beginnings. This means I now committed 100% to hugo. I have to say that I prefer the simplicity of it. That it is just static web pages. I also like that it is just plain files on my side. Makes it so much easier to move things around, find things and edit them. Tried it, stopped, tried it, stopped. Today I thought enough is enough. I might as well commit to it, So there it is. My new page in Hugo. I decided to use the “Terminal” theme. It just fits my background the best. Good, old Unix terminal.
